Art Week will return September 1-6, 2019 leading up to the 28th annual Doylestown Arts Festival. Intended to celebrate Doylestown as a center for the arts and culture, Art Week will showcase both permanent and temporary installations in local museums, galleries, storefronts, restaurants, and more!

Visitors can expect a mixture of large scale exhibits, live art, collections, and small shows. Explore things to do or see how you can get involved! Art Week is free to attend, free to join, and designed for all ages.

James A. Michener Art Museum presents American Moderns

A remarkable gift of 27 works from Gerry and Marguerite Lenfest in 1999 enabled the Michener Art Museum to highlight the significant contributions to the development of modern art in America as seen through the prism of our region. For the first time in thirty years, these works will be on view together in one gallery, underscoring the lasting contributions of our region’s artists to the evolution of 20th-century American art.

Mercer Museum presents Racing: A Need for Speed

In this original exhibition, explore the colorful history of racing in Bucks County, PA and the Delaware Valley across four sports-motor racing, horse racing, foot racing and cycling, from the footraces of early Native Americans and colonists to the horse tracks and fairgrounds of the 1800’s, to the auto speedways and bicycle velodromes of the 20th century.


​Fonthill Museum presents Henry Mercer’s Castle

Fonthill Castle is Henry Mercer’s concrete castle house with 44 rooms, 18 fireplaces and over 200 windows of varying size and shape. The interior walls, floors and ceilings are elaborately adorned with Mercer’s handcrafted tiles.


Bucks County presents Moravian Pottery & Tile Works

The Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, a National Historic Landmark, is maintained as a "working history" museum. Handmade tiles are still produced in a manner similar to that developed by the pottery's founder and builder, Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930).


Bucks County presents Civil War Museum and Library

The museum presents numerous rare and one-of-a-kind artifacts from the Civil War, with emphasis on Bucks County's contribution. The library and research room houses thousands of books, periodicals, rare first-editions and databases for research and study.

Shaving Grace Barbers presents Jordan Spector

Local pastel/oil paints sports artist (recent designer of the Philadelphia Eagles billboard that was placed in Maine thanks to Philly’s Super Bowl 52 win), Jordan Spector, has his work proudly displayed on canvas at Shaving Grace Barbers. Patrons can come in for classic haircuts, beard trims, straight razor shaves (via appointments), complimentary craft beer on tap, & take pleasure in all of Jordan’s wonderfully detailed paintings. ​Delaware Valley University presents Jim Lard

Delaware Valley University will host a special exhibit, celebrating the work of ceramic artist Jim Lard. The wood-fired porcelain and stoneware ceramics show entitled, “com-ple-men-tar-i-ty,” will open Aug 1 and run through Nov 2 in the University’s Life Sciences Building.


​Artefact Antiques presents Penney Fleming & Bob Richey

Artefact Antiques celebrates Art Week Doylestown by featuring the wall sculptures of Penney Fleming and the paintings of Bob Richey from September 2-7. This September 7th & 8th, the Doylestown Arts Festival returns for its 28th anniversary. Featuring 160 juried artists, live music on 5 stages, local food vendors, live art, and interactive demonstrations, the festival is a great experience for all ages! Free to attend, rain or shine, the Doylestown Arts Festival is one of the largest and most celebrated arts festivals in the region.
